Features
The HD295 is a receiver-in-canal (RIC) digital hearing aid. Receiver-in-canal means that the speaker component (receiver) sits in the ear canal, and is joined to the rest of the hearing aid seated behind-the-ear via a thin wire. Because one of the main components is no longer in the casing behind-the-ear, the overall size can be kept compact, whilst still offering dual microphones, and a bigger battery than a non-RIC equivalent.
The beige-coloured HD295 offers a discreet fitting. A variety of different domes for the end of the wire are supplied to ensure the speaker wire sits comfortably in the ear canal.
Suitable for those with a mild to moderate hearing loss, the HD295 analyses incoming sound in 12 frequency areas to reproduce a clear, amplified result. In our standard setting, high tones are boosted up more than lower bass tones. There are also 4 volume levels created, to offer a range for some adjustment at home.
Directional microphones provide a forward focus of amplification for better speech pick-up in noisy environments. More amplification is given to sounds from the front microphone than to sound coming from the back one; creating an improved signal-to-noise ratio for the wearer.
A noise reduction algorithm is also constantly active, helping to provide better listening comfort in noise.
If you have sent us your audiogram in advance the 4 volume levels will be based on the profile of your audiogram:
- Setting 1 is set 2dB softer than the software’s recommendation for the audiogram to give a softer option on startup.
- Setting 2 is as per audiogram recommendation.
- Setting 3 is 2-3dB louder than setting 2.
- Setting 4 is 2-3dB louder than setting 3.
If you do not have an audiogram; our default setting, suitable for a mild to moderate, high-frequency hearing loss is used to create the 4 settings.

FAQs
Here's answers to the frequently asked questions about the HD 295 RIC Digital Hearing Aid
The medium length wire included as standard fits more than 85% of our customers comfortably - but we can send out a shorter or longer wire if need be. A number of different sizes and styles of dome designs can also be used. A smaller dome can help to minimise the ear canal feeling blocked up; but a bigger dome may be required to prevent amplified sound leaking back out the ear canal and creating feedback (whistling).
If anything about the physical fitting or sound is not to your liking, you can return the HD295 for a full refund within the first 30 days of receipt. Do of course feel free to contact us to see if the problem can be resolved with a fine tuning.
If an evaluation by a hearing professional indicates that you have hearing loss in both ears, and especially where the degree of loss is similar, two hearing aids are usually recommended.
While it may be tempting to try to limit the cost by going with a single hearing aid, wearing just one hearing aid may not give you maximum benefit in some difficult listening situations.

The following items will need to be replaced on the HD295:
- Battery: budget 6 batteries per month (6 batteries in a pack)
- Dome: change the dome every month on average (10 domes in a pack)
- Wax guard: varies greatly person to person - average change once every 3 weeks (8 wax guards in a pack)

There is a rocker-type switch button on the spine of the HD295. Hold for 3 seconds up or down to change between 4 volume settings
